Chris Holt Ward 4 Councillor
Chris Holt is married to Nancy, and father to Olivia and Logan. Chris moved to Walkerville in 2002 for quality of life reasons for his family; so his kids could walk to school, walk to the market and eventually walk to work. Walkerville has lived up to its promises.
Chris has worked at Ford Motor Company for 24 years, most of that as a tool and die maker. In his spare time, he went on to open the City Cyclery bicycle shop and is now a partner in Chapter Two Brewing Company.
Chris became interested in what makes cities tick during his studies of urban design at Fanshawe College, and has continually built up his knowledge through the years in various capacities. He started writing about urban planning a decade ago in his blog, ScaleDown Windsor, which went on to win numerous awards and spawned a radio show of the same name.
Chris has sat on numerous boards and committees, both in City Hall and in the NGO community. He started the Old Walkerville Residents Association before being elected to City Council in 2014, where he has sat on 15 boards and committees. Recently, Chris was acclaimed to the provincial lobbying organization, the Association Of Municipalities Of Ontario (AMO), where he is a member of the Large Urban Caucus.
Chris has a natural curiosity about cities and their infrastructure, and is hoping the residents in his ward return him back to City Council so he can continue to build upon what he has learned and apply it to the community he loves.
